Finding Joy After Loss

Wednesday, May 8th | 6-8pm
Virtual
The experience of grief is like no other, the depths of it can shake us down to the core. We can feel not just the loss of our baby and child, but the loss of the world we once knew, the loss of how we felt in our lives, with ourselves, with our future. Healing from a loss takes bravery, courage, resiliency.. AND.. learning to find and experience joy again.
This workshop is about bringing joy back, an important step of healing and reconnection. Joy is not meant to compete with grief, but to live alongside it, so soothe the waters of our heart.
This workshop is a transformative educational workshop, meaning we are working in real time to create joy alongside grief in our two hours together. You will leave with a knowing of how to engage with joy, invite it in, and know what is keeping it from you. This is a workshop dedicated to you, your heart, your life, your relationships. Jessie Nesbitt is honoured to lead this experience.
All are welcomed regardless of your type of loss, when it happened or what stage of life you are in now. Partners and non-carrying partners, please consider attending too. We have a seat ready for you next to your partner.
Registration is required to attend.
Note: This workshop is for adults only, childcare will need to be found for all children as we need the dedicated full focus for this two-hour workshop. We are doing more than talking and learning about joy, we will be actively engaging to bring it close.
Participation is welcomed in this workshop but not expected or required. You will have time to dedicate to your own thoughts and reflections.
Jessi is hosting an in-person workshop in Saskatoon as well as a virtual workshop. We kindly ask that local Saskatoon parents join us in person, to allow room in the virtual workshop for our families who reside elsewhere in Saskatchewan.
Meet Jessi
A big warm hello! I am Jessi Nesbitt, Registered Psychologist and lover of Saturdays, coffee, and adventure.
I am a Registered Psychologist who changed my successful career 9 years ago to serve those going through infertility, reproductive trauma, pregnancy loss, and stillbirth. I resigned from the Saskatchewan Health Region and another private practice in order to establish Ilumina Fertility Counselling and Consulting in 2015. It was a wild jump then, even now, it is still the first fertility focused counselling practice here in Saskatchewan.
I am humbled and honored to be part of the fertility community as a whole, working alongside fertility and loss support groups both in Saskatoon & Regina, including the incredible Empty Arms. My passion came from my own journey that included 7 years of negative pregnancy tests, loss, loneliness, fear, and struggle, before my dream of family was realized.
