Karina

Karina joined the Empty Arms team in 2019, and is now the Community Relations Coordinator, managing the day-to-day behind the scenes. She is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and partnerships within our community.

Before joining Empty Arms, Karina was a public servant for over a decade with the Ministry of Justice. Her roles included Legal Assistant and trained as a Justice of the Peace for the Provincial Court. Through her dedicated service, she gained valuable

experience and skills in administration and public relations. Following this tenure Karina continued her career as a Legal Assistant at the City Solicitor’s office, where she further honed her expertise in serving the public.

Karina endured the devastating loss of her fiancé at the young age of 28. This profound experience reshaped her perspective, deepening her empathy for individuals grappling with grief.

Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference and forge genuine connections, she pursued a career path aimed at supporting and assisting others during challenging times.

In addition to managing day-to-day operations behind the scenes at Empty Arms, Karina is passionate about her family, including her loving spouse and 3 stepchildren, who inspire her daily. In her spare time, she finds joy singing, cultivating her garden, and connecting with nature on her acreage with her dog and cats.
